Description from the seller

mid-20th-century estate smoking pipe in a classic straight Billiard shape. The pipe features a deep, polished briar wood bowl and shank, stamped clearly on the left side with "Bruyère GARANTIE". This French term translates to "Guaranteed Briar," a traditional European stamping used to denote genuine, high-quality briar wood construction (often sourced from renowned pipe-making centers like Saint-Claude, France). The pipe is equipped with a striking, translucent amber-toned marbled stem made of faux-amber (typically Bakelite or acrylic). It features a classic thin metal trim band separating the shank and the mouthpiece. The item comes complete with its original, custom-contoured hardshell case. The case is wrapped in a rich tan/brown leatherette and opens on a small brass hinge to reveal a luxurious, plush gold-velvet lined interior tailored specifically to securely house this pipe.Object ConditionPipe: Good vintage condition. The briar bowl exhibits a lovely deep grain with minor surface wear consistent with age and gentle handling. The interior of the bowl shows light usage but remains structurally sound. The faux-amber stem retains an excellent luster and clean lines.Case: Shows visible signs of age and wear along the exterior spine, seams, and margins, typical for authentic vintage pipe cases of this era. The interior velvet remains bright, vibrant, and well-preserved. The closure clasp functions correctly.SpecificationsMarkings: "Bruyère GARANTIE" (Stamped on the left shank)Shape: Straight Billiard / PotMaterial (Bowl): Genuine Briar Wood (Erica arborea)Material (Stem): Faux-Amber / Swirled Acrylic (Bakelite-style)Total Weight: 28 grams (including case)Dimensions: 16 cm (Length) x 4 cm (Width) x 2.8 cm (Depth)
