Description from the seller
The work, gouache on panel, enters studies on the weight of bodies to rewrite new geographies of the boundaries of one’s being with the “other” or “the other” and depicts two young women who fit their lines together as if reconstructing a new form between curves, fullness and emptiness.
The painting here has more synthetic and expressive characteristics, with lacquer-like notes of garanza, and it stands out from the artist’s other oil works for the delicacy of the tones.
It expresses beauty, elegance and mystery.
The panel is 9 mm thick. A simple protective frame is recommended.
With the artwork will also be shipped the certificate of authenticity of an original work.
Jara Marzulli’s works are part of private collections in many parts of the world, public and museum collections such as in Athens, Catania at MacS, in the Gaeta Pinacoteca and at the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera and in Cadiz, Spain. She also collaborates with “The Guide artists,” a physical and online art store offering the best figurative art from around the world.
Numerous are the publications in important catalogs, books and magazines, both print and online, with international reach. The latest book “La statura della palma,” published by Selvatiche Edizioni, with 15 images of her works, in collaboration with poet Francesca del Moro, is available on various stores, platforms or by orders@selvaticheedizioni.com
Jara Marzulli
born in Bari and educated at the Bari Art High School and later at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari with top marks, and since 1998 she has participated in exhibitions and competitions, immediately receiving recognitions, prizes and important selections.
Her figurative realist painting style quickly became recognizable and since 2004 international experiences began through fairs,Biennials and important exhibitions.
Her art grows and tells of a feel that is at once ecstatic and carnal, made even more incisive and moving by the technical perfection that characterizes the artist. A lucid and tearing expressive quality, an indefinable purity that dresses in painting, a constant play of displacements, of role swaps between the artist who paints and the depicted subject.
Numerous are the prestigious Biennials and art exhibitions in which she exhibits in Italy and abroad, such as Turkey, Art Taipei Fair, Taiwan, China at the Red Elation gallery, Hong Kong, MEAM Museum, Barcelona, Dublin, the Mainz Museum, Buenos Aires in Argentina and London.
Jara Marzulli’s figures have-intense, direct, frontal gazes. They have the dignity of subjects ready to respond with great immediacy. The characters that almost entirely occupy the canvas space manage to visually represent men, women, girls and boys who seem to recognize the observer as a stranger, sustain their gaze, push him away, and distance themselves to defend the silence of their precious inner world.
