Description from the seller
Opera created in 2026, by artist Emma Beatrice Pierotti born in 1990 in Italy, known as MEMÉ. An emerging self-taught artist, she has participated in countless national and international exhibitions with participation certificates and awards such as Artist of the Year, and appears in art catalogs as an effect of art of the years 2024 and 2025, for example Brussels, London, Miami, New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Venice, Rome, with frequent collaboration with the University of Fine Arts of Istanbul, ARDAHAN ÜNİVERSİTESİ
GÜZEL SANATLAR FAKÜLTESİ
FACULTY OF FINE ARTS.
This acrylic work is realized on canvas with mixed media, measuring 117x105 cm (the measurements refer to the entire canvas without the frame; the centimeters used for the internal structure should be considered).
*The canvas may appear crumpled; this does not compromise the quality and suitability of the work. When the canvas is stretched, the wrinkles will disappear.
The painting reveals itself as a powerful visual meditation on the human condition and its connection to the spiritual dimension. At the center of the composition stand three dark, elongated figures, lacking facial features. This formal choice accomplishes an act of universalization: the silhouettes do not represent specific individuals but become archetypes of humanity as a whole. Their strong vertical tension expresses a detachment from material heaviness and an aspiration upward. Arranged in a sacred geometry (the number three as a symbol of synthesis and totality), the figures float motionless in contemplative silence, immersed in a vibrant red background that evokes an primordial fire or vital urgency. The poetic core of the work is fulfilled in the upper part, where a stylized and tactile fish swims. Placed in stark horizontal contrast to the verticality of the silhouettes, the fish acts as a catalyst for gaze and meaning. An ancient symbol of regeneration, the unconscious and spiritual fertility, it floats above the figures as a shared thought, a revelation or a suspended blessing. With its clear, almost aureous hue, the fish breaks the trio’s staticity and becomes a bearer of light and hope, suggesting that the human being, in his silent inner journey, is always overseen and guided by a higher and transcendent vital dimension. A work of refined synthesis that unites contemporary abstraction with a deep therapeutic and meditative power.
Unique of its kind, in excellent condition, hand-signed bottom right with acrylic and on the back with ink; the frame is not present. Shipping would be with the canvas rolled in a reinforced cardboard tube, suitable for shipping.
The packaging is made from recycled materials to combat pollution and encourage the recycling of existing materials; this too sometimes becomes a creative and pleasant process, without compromising the suitability of the packaging.
*For shipments outside Italy, any duties and customs taxes are the buyer’s responsibility, unless otherwise requested by the shipping service.
The work is cataloged and entered in the International Archive of Modern Art; certificates of authenticity and archiving will be delivered together with the work in paper format. The certificate of ownership is available on request in PDF format.
*The photos of the works may slightly vary in color depending on the device used to view the painting. In images focusing on detail, the color is the closest to fidelity. In illustrative images, I use a specialized art program to simulate the framed work in a common environment.
