Anna Valla was born in Saluzzo (Cuneo) in 1951, where she lives and works. She trained in the cultural milieu of the Turin avant-garde of the 1970s, absorbing its desire for expression “beyond the conceptual.” Two are essentially the dimensions that characterize her work: color and gesture (gestural), without her painting being exhausted by either, and without one prevailing over the other, in a relationship of mediated balance and coherent complementarity.

Works realized in the screen-printing workshop of Studio Fornaresio and the films produced by the artist; on each work, a manual intervention has been carried out.

Anna Valla è nata a Saluzzo (Cuneo) nel 1951 dove vive e lavora. Si forma nell’ambiente culturale dell’avanguardia torinese degli anni ‘70, assorbendone la volontà di espressione “oltre il concettuale”.
Due sono, essenzialmente, le dimensioni che caratterizzano la sua opera: il colore e il segno (gestuale), senza però che la sua pittura si esaurisca nell’una o nell’altra, e senza che l’una prevalga sull’altra, in un rapporto di mediato equilibrio e di coerente complementarità.
