Wil Eggen, Boerderij aan pad, a 1979 original watercolor (aquarel) in landscape, signed, with frame, Netherlands, sold by Galerie, 47 × 60 cm (framed).
Description from the seller
In this atmospheric watercolor, a traditional farm with a thatched roof is central, surrounded by trees and greenery. The artist uses fresh shades of blue, green, and ochre yellow to bring the rural landscape to life. Thanks to the loose, transparent brushstrokes, the work remains light and lively, while the clear lines of the farmhouse provide structure. The road in the foreground guides the eye to the yard and gives the landscape extra depth. Overall, the piece radiates calm, simplicity, and a sense of connection with the Dutch countryside.
Will Eggen (Willem Hendrik Eggen) was born in 1935 in Heerlen and was a Dutch painter who became especially known for his still lifes and portraits. In his work careful looking was central: objects, light, color, and composition were studied and developed with care. He had a strong interest in traditional craftsmanship and enjoyed painting simple and sometimes old-fashioned objects, such as bottles, jugs, musical instruments, and toys. His work is characterized by both restraint and silence as well as rich and sometimes powerful use of color.
Dimensions: 35 × 48 cm
Framed dimensions: 47 × 60 cm
Viewing is, of course, possible.
