Gaudaire began painting in 1965 and studied at the Ecole Nationale des Métiers d’Art in Paris from 1968 to 1971, but it is during his first study trip to Egypt (winter 1976) that he strongly develops his work on primeval signs.
During his career as a painter, study trips have taken him to Italy, Egypt, Greece, the United States, China and Ethiopia.

Gaudaire ha iniziato a dipingere nel 1965 e ha studiato presso l'Ecole Nationale des Métiers d’Art di Parigi tra 1968-1971, ma è durante il suo primo viaggio di studio in Egitto (inverno 1976) che sviluppa con forza il suo lavoro sui segni primordiali.
Nel corso della sua attività di pittore, viaggi di studio lo hanno condotto in Italia, Egitto, Grecia, Stati Uniti, Cina ed Etiopia.
