"When one rolled Away" is a beautiful print on high-quality Hahnemuhle Photo Rag. The size is 20x25 and it has a small white border. It concerns the second edition of twenty-five copies.
With a subtle color palette and a refined play of light, Van de Bunte references Baroque painting while giving the objects a contemporary meaning. In her images, time seems to stand still for a moment. The objects are stripped of their original function and gain a new dignity, as precious witnesses of a past that slowly rises from the river.
Ursula van de Bunte works from her studio in a monumental building along the IJssel in the Hanseatic city of Kampen. Her work is on view in museums, galleries and at art fairs."

Passionate, sensitive and with an eye for detail, light and color, would be a nice description of Ursula's approach. She is perfectionistic, enthusiastic and diligent; she will only be satisfied when the well-known WOW factor has been achieved.
With her artworks she aims to bring her subjects forward in the purest possible way. Ursula transforms objects into powerful still lifes and the portraits are a reflection of a bygone era, where from time to time a splash of modern life is incorporated.
Her work is unconventional and the use of light leans toward her sources of inspiration: the paintings of Jacques-Louis David, Rembrandt and Caravaggio.
As a photographer Ursula also seeks to distinguish herself through diversity in her work, and beside individual creations she makes series, where multiple images tell one story. She is notably discovered with her intriguing, still lifes: the series Plastic Vegetables and the series House-4-Sale. These works have been awarded with various prizes, among them for the series “de 100 van Rooyackers.”
