Hermès – Carré 90 “Écuries” – Hugo Grygkar – 1947 Design – Navy Blue – Vintage Silk Scarf
Description
Hermès Carré 90 – “Écuries” – Hugo Grygkar
An elegant vintage Hermès Carré featuring the classic “Écuries” design by renowned Hermès artist Hugo Grygkar. The design was first issued in 1947 and belongs to the house’s iconic equestrian repertoire.
The highly graphic composition depicts 20 horses standing in individual stable stalls, alternating between vivid blue and bright red horse blankets. The repeated stable scenes create a strong rhythmic and almost architectural composition, making this one of the most distinctive equestrian designs associated with vintage Hermès.
The colour palette is particularly striking. A deep navy-blue background is combined with bottle green, cognac and brown tones, vivid red, royal blue, golden yellow, white and pale blue. The brown-gold border with white accents gives the entire composition a highly refined and balanced appearance.
The scarf bears the characteristic HERMÈS marking as well as the Hermès-Paris emblem incorporated into the design.
The original Hermès care and composition label is present, confirming 100% silk and Made in France.
