E. García presents the original 2026 acrylic painting titled “Gato naranja y mar azul XL” (100 × 70 cm, multicolor) in a fovismo style depicting a cat on a windowsill overlooking a sea landscape, signed by hand and authenticated with a certificate, shipped rolled in a protective cardboard tube.
Description from the seller
"Gato naranja y mar azul" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work represents an open arched window toward an intense seascape, where a small orange cat rests on the windowsill while gazing at the horizon.
The composition is built around the verticality of the window, which functions as a frame within the painting itself. The deep blue of the sea and sky contrasts with the large coral and orange surface of the wall. In the foreground, the cat shares the sill with a small plant in a blue vase, while in the distance a tiny red sailboat appears, introducing depth and a hint of travel.
The color palette is simple but especially intense: ultramarine and turquoise blues, coral, orange, red and small green accents. The brushstrokes remain visible and spontaneous, with simplified shapes and a deliberately direct perspective that gives the scene a contemporary and slightly naïf character.
The contrast between the cat's calmness and the immensity of the sea creates a serene and contemplative atmosphere. The small scale of the sailboat against the blue expanse reinforces the sense of distance, while the warm architecture surrounds the scene with a Mediterranean luminosity.
"Gato naranja y mar azul" combines seascape, architecture and animal figure in a luminous and evocative image. A particularly attractive work for collectors of contemporary figurative painting, cat lovers, Mediterranean landscapes, coastal scenes, interiors with views and color-intense compositions.
