Artist E. García presents Gatos XL (no reserve), a 100 × 70 cm original acrylic painting (multicolor) from 2026 in a Fauvist style showing animals, signed by hand, created in Spain and sold directly by the artist, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
"Gatos" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work features two light-furred cats in an intimate and serene scene, built through simple shapes and a pallette of intensely contrasted colours.
One of the cats sleeps cuddled on a pink seat, while the second remains seated in the foreground with its eyes closed. Their postures convey calm and contemplation, turning an everyday scene into a contemplative composition.
The palette combines cream and pale yellow tones on the animals with deep blue, coral pink, and a turquoise background covered by large plant motifs. This chromatic opposition provides visual strength to the piece without altering the sense of tranquility that dominates the scene.
The visible, spontaneous brushwork, the simplified contours, and the free treatment of color place the painting close to a contemporary sensibility of Fauvism and Naïf. The plants in the background are reduced to large decorative silhouettes, reinforcing the graphic character of the composition and making the cat figures stand out clearly.
"Gatos" combines animal portrait, color, and a quiet domestic atmosphere in a simple and expressive painting. A work especially attractive for collectors of contemporary art, figurative painting, cats, animals, Fauvism, and intense color compositions.
