Description from the seller
"Patio en Yucatán" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work depicts a bright patio with Mexican inspiration, where white architecture, vegetation, and water build a serene scene that is deeply Mediterranean and tropical.
In the foreground, a small pool of green-blue waters appears, rendered with free brushstrokes that add movement and reflections. A large terracotta pot with a columnar cactus occupies one of the main points of the composition, while a green crystal suspended lamp introduces a decorative element with strong visual presence.
The stepped architecture organizes the scene through diagonals and different levels. On the white walls, vegetal motifs in blue and coral appear, accompanied by small decorative objects and ceramics that reinforce the artisanal character of the space. Light passes through the branches and casts numerous shadows on the walls, becoming one of the painting’s leading elements.
The palette combines warm whites, bluish grays, deep greens, terracotas, and delicate coral accents. The visible, spontaneous brushwork, together with the simplification of forms and the expressive use of color, give the work a contemporary figurative language with Fauvist influences.
"Patio en Yucatán" conveys the sensation of a tranquil, luminous sanctuary, evoking the heat, vegetation, and the architecture of patios in the south. A work especially attractive to collectors of contemporary painting, interiors, architecture, and landscapes inspired by Mexico.
