Zippo - Special Limited Shell Inlay Design - Pocket lighter - Metal

The polished silver-tone body with colorful abalone-style shell and white inlay immediately caught my eye. The geometric hand-made decoration has a nice crafted feel, and the original wooden “Special Limited” presentation box makes this a particularly attractive auction piece.

[Appearance]

This 2005 Zippo features an elaborate geometric inlay mounted on a polished silver-tone body. The center displays colorful abalone-style shell with blue, green, purple, and brown tones, surrounded by white shell-like panels and a raised metal frame.

The case shows light scratches, small marks, and minor signs of storage and handling. Some discoloration and age-related residue can also be seen around the edges and joints of the applied decoration. On the positive side, the polished body retains a strong shine, and the colorful shell pattern remains very attractive with a nice handcrafted character.

The presentation box is marked in Japanese “ジッポー特別限定” (Zippo Special Limited) and “エポキシ HAND MADE.” The wooden case itself also adds a nice period display feel.

The bottom is stamped “ZIPPO,” “BRADFORD, PA. MADE IN U.S.A.” with date code “A 05,” indicating January 2005 production.
