Description from the seller
Vintage collectible lighter made of brass and copper – Trench Art / Vintage handicraft, perfectly functional
Description:
I am selling an old gasoline lighter, a superb collector's item made entirely by hand (Trench Art / trench art), most likely dating from the first half of the 20th century (interwar period / World War II).
The object is composed of 3 distinct pieces: the outer sleeve, the friction-removable cap and the inner tank. It is a work of art of exceptional quality, ideal for collectors, enthusiasts of military objects (militaria) or lovers of vintage accessories with personality.
Details and features:
Materials: The outer casing is made of brass, with a superb natural patina, and the inner mechanism/tank is made of copper with hand-welded joints.
Unique design: The front of the lighter is decorated by hand engraving with an ornamental shield framing a stylized monogram (worked with a fine point/chisel). The back is plain.
Technical condition: Perfectly functional! The toothed wheel is in excellent condition, provides a strong spark and lights the wick instantly (the mechanism is tested, cleaned and powered).
Power supply: It has a prominent screw at the base for easy flint change and filling with standard lighter fuel (Zippo type).
Dimensions: Compact, ergonomic, very pleasant to the touch thanks to the hand-polished and rounded edges.
The lighter does not have industrial markings or factory stamps, which confirms its authenticity and uniqueness as a workshop/front piece. It is sold exactly as it appears in the photos
