Description from the seller
Antique Alpaca "Permanent Match" (Pocket Striker) Lighter, Art Deco Period (1920s-1930s) – Collector's Item
Description:
I am selling an antique mechanical pocket lighter, "permanent match" type model (pocket striker), an original period piece dating from the Art Deco period (1910s-1930s). The object most likely comes from a manufacturing workshop in Germany or Austria.
Material: Made entirely of Alpaca (resistant alloy historically known as "German silver"). It features the authentic "ALPACCA" hallmark clearly stamped on the side grip ring.
Design: Elegant classic model, with fine decorative vertical striations (guilloché), typical of interwar geometric design.
Mechanism: It has the original metal rod with a convex handle, which screws/inserts into the tank body. On the side it is provided with the original metal strip of flint (amnar) for producing sparks.
Utility: The piece is equipped with a metal side ring, and can be worn attached to a pocket watch chain, keys or as a pendant.
Aesthetic and technical condition:
The piece is complete (case, rod, ring).
Visually it is in very good vintage condition, without major clogs, presenting a superb natural patina specific to its age (it can be cleaned for full shine, according to the buyer's preferences).
The wick and the amnar stone show natural traces of historical wear. It is sold as a collector's item, as a decorative piece or to be functionally restored (requires refueling with light gasoline and possibly adjusting the wick).
A special piece, ideal for collectors of vintage tobacco accessories, history enthusiasts or for a gift with character
