The motif of the “Cow” belongs to the best-known image creations of Andy Warhol and originally emerged in 1966 in the context of the legendary cow wallpaper for the Leo Castelli Gallery. The distinctive depiction of the cow’s head in bright colors became an iconic example of Warhol’s serial and graphic visual language.
