Original etching by the German artist Isolde Baumgart (1935–2011), titled 'Un fil et la fontaine' ('A Thread and the Fountain'). The sheet stands exemplarily for Baumgart's abstract-oriented graphic work. A finely worked, nuanced line structure creates organically appearing forms and gives the composition a special lightness and dynamic tension.
The work offered here is an original print, signed and titled by the artist herself – not a later reproduction or reprint. The limited edition comprises only 40 copies, giving the print a special collector's value.

Isolde Baumgart (1935–2011) was a German graphic designer and printmaker. After studying in Berlin and Kassel, Paris especially influenced her artistic development.
Her etchings are characterized by abstract, organic forms and fine, dynamic lines. In addition to her free graphics, Baumgart was known for her extraordinary film posters. She also designed stamps for the Deutsche Bundespost.
