Heinz Treiber (born 1943 in Höfen an der Enz) is a well-known German contemporary artist who studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart and is especially valued for his technically excellent, often profound etchings and relief prints.
-----
The work offered here is an elaborate graphic with collage elements (the text strips) and additional stamps, which makes it interesting within Heinz Treiber's graphic oeuvre.
-----
Stylistically, the graphic strongly recalls the socially critical and satirical art of the early 20th century, in particular the pointed, socially critical ink drawings and lithographs by artists such as George Grosz or Franz Wilhelm Seiwert. The artist consciously adopts this classic, narrative caricature style (sharp lines, reduced facial expression, cartoonish exaggeration) to parody the contemporary art system of the 1990s.
-----
Condition: very good (see illustrations).
-----
Shipping is conducted as insured parcel in transport-safe packaging.
