The Nokia 6500 slide is a mid-range slider phone with a built-in 3.2-megapixel camera equipped with Carl Zeiss lenses. Nokia has paid a lot of attention to the exterior of the 6500 slide. The Nokia 6500 slide is made of (brushed) steel. A uniquely assembled coating protects the brushed stainless steel housing against scratches, wear, and even fingerprints. The 6500 slide clearly targets the mobile photographer. Not only the good lens, but also the dual LED flash and the TV-out guarantee mobile photography pleasure. Furthermore, the Nokia 6500 slide is also equipped with UMTS and a digital media player. Simultaneously with the 6500 slide, the 6500 classic was introduced. The 6500 classic has a different form factor and a lesser camera (2 megapixels). At the same time as the Nokia 6500 classic and slide, Nokia announced the Nokia 8600 Luna. This model is no longer available new in stores. These are so-called refurbished models that come with a new warranty period.

The Nokia 6500 slide is a midrange camera phone weighing 123 grams. The dimensions of the phone are 9.7 x 4.7 x 1.7 centimeters. The talk time is (under ideal conditions) 360 minutes. The standby time under these conditions is 320 hours. The Nokia 6500 slide is available in black and silver.

Calling & data features
With the 6500 slide you can relatively quickly browse the mobile internet thanks to EDGE support. EDGE is currently no longer supported in the Netherlands. Therefore you are limited to the much slower GPRS. Abroad EDGE is still popular. With the Nokia 6500 slide you can send and receive both text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages. Additionally, this Nokia has a WAP browser. Thanks to email support you can also read your own emails. Vibration alert and polyphonic ringtones are of course part of the standard equipment.

Memory & connectivity
The Nokia 6500 slide has 20 MB internal memory (Flash). There is in total 1 slot for external microSD memory available. You can transfer data to and from your PC via mini-USB. The 6500 slide also has Bluetooth and a VideoOut connection.
