ABOUT THE WORK — Deep Inside
Deep Inside is a self-portrait that explores perception, introspection, and the distance between the image we project and what remains hidden.
The protagonist, dressed in an elegant black suit, holds a magnifying glass up to one eye. The lens magnifies her gaze and reveals a small teardrop, turning a seemingly insignificant detail into the emotional center of the composition. The magnifying glass serves as an invitation to look beyond the surface and discover what is not always visible at first glance.
The contrast between pink hair, pale skin, and the darkness of the clothing reinforces the duality between exterior strength and inner vulnerability. The cool lighting and frontal composition give the portrait a contained, cinematic atmosphere, in which the subject's expression maintains a deliberate ambiguity.
Through a single gesture and a small detail, Deep Inside transforms the gaze into a space of revelation. The work reminds us that every person contains a reality more complex than what they show to the world and that there is always more than what our eyes can see.
