About Svnder:
After completing his academic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, Svnder devoted himself to painting with a focus on realism and hyperrealism. His work draws its roots from classical techniques, but he is guided by a contemporary sensibility that gives each subject a poetic depth.
His works explore the emotional weight of silence, stillness, and identity through precise and meticulous execution.
After his academic training, he traveled across Europe and the rest of the world, immersing himself in diverse cultures and artistic traditions to further refine his technique and broaden his creative vision.
This ongoing journey constantly enriches his visual language and strengthens its expressive force.
Inspired by the timeless language of the great masters — among them Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Vermeer — his gaze blends tradition and modernity in a continuous dialogue between memory, body and symbol.
The subjects of his works range from religious scenes and sacred figures reinterpreted in a contemporary light, to portraits with strong emotional charge, including mythological creatures, fallen angels, saints, martyrs and allegorical figures. References to classicism, Christian symbolism, Greek myth and pop culture filtered with irony can be found.
Each composition is built like an image suspended in time, where light and darkness, body and mind, sacred and profane coexist in a dramatic and profoundly human balance.
