Artist biography: Nguyen Robert, born 1958.
Born in 1958 in Ben Tre, a genuine village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose work is distinguished by a unique fusion of Asian traditions and Western artistic influences. From a young age, he was fascinated by the rural architecture of his environment, the lines of traditional houses, the forms of floating markets, the shadows cast by water palm trees—elements that would form the basis of his visual language.

Having always lived in his homeland region, Nguyen Robert over the decades developed a deeply contemporary, modern, and highly architectural style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms, and geometric abstraction, while retaining a poetic sensitivity characteristic of Vietnamese culture.

His dual Franco-Vietnamese heritage enriches his approach: he borrows from the West the rigor of modern compositions and the boldness of contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul infuses softness, spirituality, and fluidity into his works. The result is a pictorial universe where modernity meets the timeless, where geometry dialogues with light, creating paintings of great visual power.
