Born in 1958 in Ben Tre, a genuine village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose work stands out for a singular fusion between Asian traditions and Western artistic influences. From a very young age, he is fascinated by the rural architecture of his environment, the lines of traditional houses, the volumes of the floating markets, the shadows cast by water palms — all elements that will form the basis of his visual language.

Based in his native region for his entire life, Nguyen Robert over the decades has developed a deeply contemporary, modern, and deliberately architectural style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms, and geometric abstraction, while maintaining a poetic sensibility inherent to Vietnamese culture.

His dual Franco-Vietnamese heritage enriches his approach: he borrows from the West the rigor of modern compositions and bold contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul injects gentleness, spirituality, and fluidity into his works. The result is a pictorial universe where modernity meets the timeless, where geometry dialogues with light, creating paintings of great visual power.
