Biography of artist Nguyen Robert (born 1958).

Born in 1958 in Ben Tre, an authentic village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose work stands out for a singular fusion of Asian traditions and Western artistic influences. From a young age, he has been fascinated by the rural architecture of his surroundings, the lines of traditional houses, the volumes of floating markets, the shadows cast by water palm trees — all elements that would become the basis of his visual language.

Settled in his native region for the long term, Nguyen Robert has developed over the decades a deeply contemporary, modern, and decisively architectural style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms, and geometric abstraction, while preserving a poetic sensibility intrinsic to Vietnamese culture.

His dual Franco-Vietnamese heritage enriches his approach: he borrows Western modern composition rigor and bold contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul infuses softness, spirituality, and fluidity into his works.
