Description from the seller

An acrylic painting on canvas created by Guido Pajetta in the early eighties. It represents the surreal image of the embrace between a female figure and a character—perhaps a child, I suppose—described in deconstructed forms. The work represents the final phase of the painter's artistic experience in which color and the deconstruction of the image reach full maturity.
Guido Pajetta is recognized by critics as one of the most significant artists of the twentieth century for having traversed the century by crossing movements and high-profile personalities in Italy and abroad—Italian Twentieth Century, Sironi, De Chirico, Surrealism, Chiarismo, Post-Impressionism, Fontana, etc.—in search of a continuity and synthesis between the nineteenth-century Venetian painting of his family (grandfather Paolo, uncles Pietro and Mariano, and cousin Mario) and Modernity.
