WAHL-EVERSHARP SKYLINE BLACK FOUNTAIN PEN (USA, 1940s):
We present at auction an unquestionable icon of twentieth-century aerodynamic design: the Wahl-Eversharp Skyline. Designed by Henry Dreyfuss, this historic piece was the best-selling writing instrument in the United States during the 1940s.

This unit in particular is presented in the most classic, sober and elegant finish of the range: solid black both on the body and the cap, contrasting with the characteristic clip on the dome and the gold-plated side lever.

The peculiarity of this piece lies in its original nib: forged in 14-karat solid gold, it bears the coveted designation "MANIFOLD". In the Golden Age of writing, these rigid and robust nibs were designed specifically to resist the heavy pressure required to write on tracing paper (carbon copies), which today makes them ideal for users with fast, firm handwriting or for left-handers, as they offer an unbreakable and smooth stroke.

Celluloid and Metal: The body retains excellent shine. The gildings show a good overall condition. Expert note: As seen in the close-up photographs, the black cap dome shows a small flaw / superficial mark near the upper ring of the clip, a residue of its more than 80 years of history, which does not affect the solidity or the functionality of the closure.

Nib: In magnificent condition, clean and with the nib tines perfectly aligned.

Mechanics: The lever sits perfectly. (Note: the original inner rubber sac might need replacement for optimal daily use. Comes without original case).
