Glossy vintage gelatin silver print with artist stamp (Photo Robert Doisneau in blue) on the back.
Photograph shot and printed in 1961.
Provenance: personal collection of Helene Rochas
The photograph is in fine overall condition considering its age, with only very slight bends/creases to the corners and slight waviness along the edges. Please refer to the photographs for a detailed assessment of condition.
A contact sheet featuring the same image, showing the negative number and the photographer’s red studio stamp “Photo Robert Doisneau”, together with the address of his Paris atelier, is shown in the final three images for provenance/authenticity reference only and is not included in the sale.
Hélène Rochas (1921–2011) was a prominent figure in the French fashion industry. Initially a model, she later became director of the Rochas fashion house and played a major role in transforming it into a highly successful international fragrance business.
