Set of seven lithographs by Salvador Dalí belonging to the famous bibliophile edition Obres de Museu, made in collaboration with writer Josep Pla and published by DASA Edicions, Barcelona, in 1980.

The seven compositions show some of the most characteristic motifs of the Dalinian universe: Ampurdan landscapes, Mediterranean architectures, human figures of classical and Renaissance inspiration, allegorical scenes and surreal elements, combining spontaneous gestural drawing with an extraordinarily fluid line.

In several plates, signatures and dates “Dalí 1977” are integrated into the composition, corresponding to the moment of creation of the designs that would later form part of the Obres de Museu edition.

Particularly interesting are the references to the landscape of Cadaqués, Portlligat and the Empordà, reinterpreted by Dalí through monumental figures, classical bodies, architectures, roads and perspectives that transform the real landscape into a symbolic and surreal vision.

The compositions alternate vertical and horizontal formats and present a marked graphic richness, from scenes with a strong figurative component to landscapes of great economy of line, showing Dalí's characteristic ability to combine classicism, Mediterranean landscape and surrealism.

Condition

Good overall condition in line with its age. The natural warm tone of the paper and slight signs of handling or conservation on some margins are visible in the photographs. It is recommended to examine the images carefully as part of the lot description.

Provenance

The seven works come from the deluxe edition of Obres de Museu by Josep Pla, illustrated by Salvador Dalí, one of the great bibliophile publications produced around the collaboration between the Catalan writer and the surrealist artist.
