Parker Duofold Lapis Blue Marble fountain pen set in celluloid with gold plating, two objects, 11.6 cm long and 1.1 cm in diameter, origin United States, from the first half of the 20th century, in good used condition.
Description from the seller
A0000003523
The set is presented in very good overall condition, preserving all the personality and character of an original Parker piece from the 1920s–30s.
The Lapis Blue Marble celluloid maintains its chromatic depth and its attractive blue-veined marble-like pattern, with natural shine. Signs of use and micro-scratches are slightly visible, consistent with the passage of time and normal use of a vintage piece. These signs do not affect the material’s structure nor compromise its stability.
On the gold-colored metal elements (clip, rings, the pencil lead cone, and embellishments) there are marks and light scratches more noticeable, typical of rubbing and handling over decades. The gold plating retains good overall presence and uniformity, with no structural losses or deformities.
The body engraving remains visible. The 14K gold nib preserves definition in its inscriptions and its structure remains intact, with no appreciable alterations in its morphology. The filling system and the mechanism of the mechanical pencil show no visible structural damage.
Overall, it is an authentic and honest set, with the natural signs that accompany a nearly century-old historical piece, but without structural cracks, without functional damage, and without compromising its use or its collectible value.
It presents a patina in line with its age that reinforces its vintage character without detracting from its appeal.
It will be sent in a courtesy box to preserve the integrity of the set.
