Description from the seller
Source Form – TERONU, 2026
From the Source Forms series.
An original mixed-media work on canvas, combining acrylic, pouring techniques, metallic details, natural earth materials and textured surface work.
The piece developed around the idea of form emerging from something raw and undefined. Turquoise, green, cream, white and earthy brown move through the composition, while raised textures and irregular structures give the work a strong physical presence.
Natural materials are an important part of RAUM’s process. The artist works with earth and mineral-based matter, at times creating his own paint and surface mixtures, using these materials to bring something of the natural world back into interior spaces.
The work is built through a combination of pouring, layering, gravity and direct intervention. Some areas feel geological, others biological or almost like fragments of a map. The image remains open and is not intended to represent one fixed form.
The title Source Form – TERONU refers to something elemental beginning to take shape.
About the artist
RAUM is an anonymous European contemporary artist working across painting, mixed media and material-based abstraction.
The work explores the point where form begins to emerge before it becomes fully defined. Organic structures, geological surfaces, symbolic fragments and fluid movement often appear throughout the pieces.
A central part of the practice is the use of natural material, especially earth, to create pigments, textures and surfaces. The intention is to reconnect the work with physical material and nature, rather than treating the painting only as an image.
Rather than placing the artist at the centre, the work points toward the deeper source from which creativity itself seems to emerge.
This body of work is intentionally kept separate from the artist’s established professional practice. The artist’s identity is intended to be revealed in 2030.
