Description from the seller

A0000004838

The fountain pen is in very good overall condition, notably maintaining an elegant and authentic presence characteristic of pre-war Montblancs manufactured between the late 1930s and the early 1940s.

The body and cap retain an excellent shine in the original black celluloid, with a clean and even surface. There are light signs of use and small superficial marks consistent with the piece’s age, without cracks, deformations, or visible structural damage. The gold rings and the tear-drop shaped clip maintain a good aesthetic presence, showing only light, natural wear from the passage of time.

The translucent amber ink window preserves notable transparency for this model, allowing proper visibility of the ink level, something especially valued in pieces from this era. The engraving “Montblanc” on the cap remains visible and well defined.

The pen retains its original Montblanc nib in solid 14-karat gold, decorated with the classic “Montblanc” engraving, the emblematic star of the brand, and the inscription “14C.” The nib presents an elegant and sober aesthetic, characteristic of late-1930s pre-war productions, while also maintaining an excellent visual presence and proper overall conservation.

It stands out particularly for offering a pleasant semi-flex response, allowing a light natural variation in line width and providing a smooth, expressive writing experience that is very characteristic of high-end vintage German fountain pens. The original ebonite feed remains installed, contributing to a stable and balanced ink flow.

The telescoping loading mechanism functions correctly. The pen has been inspected and made operable before sale, ensuring proper operation and ready for use or collection.

This is a particularly attractive item for Montblanc vintage collectors and German pre-war historical pieces, combining originality, good conservation, and one of the most emblematic mechanisms developed by the brand.

Conservation recommendations:
Use high-quality fountain pen inks, avoiding pigmented inks. Clean with lukewarm water if not used for a while. Dry completely before storing. Store in a dry place, away from direct light and extreme temperatures. Operate the filling system gently to preserve the original telescopic mechanism.

It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation. Happy bidding!
