An exquisite and highly sought-after artist's portfolio celebrating the revolutionary vision of the Surrealist master Man Ray (1890–1976). This rare publication—numbered 0690 within a strictly limited edition of just 1,000 copies—was produced by the renowned Signum print workshop in Bollate (Milan) for the historic retrospective "Man Ray – La Mode au Congo," held between November and December 1995 at the prestigious Galleria Giò Marconi in Milan. Fusing African ethnic art with Parisian haute couture, the work captures the essence of Man Ray’s conceptual genius, transforming historic avant-garde photography into a tangible, collectible art object. A refined piece of art history, ideal for high-end photography collectors, rare book enthusiasts, and institutional archives. The complete publication consists of an all-cardboard presentation box containing a carefully curated booklet featuring 35 detailed photographic reproductions—and the portfolio's core component: a collection of 9 high-quality facsimile plates derived from original 1937 contact prints made by Man Ray from his historic original negatives.
