Michele Cascella (1892-1989) - Bouquet in vaso

Original color lithograph depicting a large bouquet of flowers in a globular porcelain vase: mimosa, red, blue and yellow anemones, tulips and daisies opening into a festive mass that fills almost the entire sheet. In the background, barely sketched in pencil, a tree-lined avenue with two figures strolling and some houses. The composition combines the freshness of freehand drawing with the chromatic richness typical of Cascella’s floral still lifes, among his most sought-after subjects.

Signed in pencil by the artist at the lower right corner "M. Cascella" and numbered in pencil at the lower left corner 56/150. Edition of 150 copies.

Michele Cascella (Ortona, 1892 – Milan, 1989) was among the most renowned Italian painters of the 20th century. He was heir to a family of Abruzzese artists, and established himself with landscapes, seascapes, and luminous floral still lifes, exhibited in Italy, Europe, and the United States. His graphic production, carried out primarily between the Sixties and Eighties, is widely collected.

Dimensions: 77 x 57 cm.

Condition: good. Clean sheet, bright colors well preserved. Mounted with a white passe-partout under glass, frame in silvered metal with a marbled effect. The backing paper on the reverse shows tears and old adhesive tapes, with no consequences for the artwork. Not examined outside the frame.
