Gérald Marin (1975–) – The Beach Huts
Gérald Marin, born in 1975, is a French painter, illustrator, draughtsman and lithographer. Passionate about the sea, he developed a style strongly influenced by Impressionism, characterised by particular attention to light, colour and visible brushwork. His works regularly evoke the seaside world, beaches, holidaymakers and sailboats.
This work, entitled “The Beach Huts”, depicts a lively beach scene with its bathing huts, walkers and holidaymakers, while numerous sailboats can be seen on the horizon. The blue tones of the sky and sea dominate the composition and are subtly enhanced by the colours of the figures.
The artist’s light and spontaneous brushwork captures the freshness of a summer day and the peaceful, joyful atmosphere characteristic of seaside resorts.
