Description from the seller
Rodrigo Alonso Cuesta (Burgos, 1982). Residing in Spain.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the University of Salamanca and in Communication Studies from the University of Burgos, and has an excellent academic background, complemented by foreign experiences thanks to Erasmus scholarships he completed in Portugal and Belgium.
His artistic activity focuses mainly on oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolor, digital art and paper, where he creates paintings, drawings and collages. His style is characterized by rich, vibrant and expressive colors, as well as by a plastically–compositional style with dynamic and unusual perspectives, influenced by his passion for analog photography.
The subjects he addresses in his works are “landscapes, still lifes and portraits… that is all,” according to the famous remark of David Hockney. Although his work initially consisted of figurative representations, he has recently begun experimenting with geometric abstraction, always in large and wide formats.
This artist has participated in countless exhibitions at the national level, with a special focus on the north of Spain. For more than 15 years he has presented his work in diverse places, such as Burgos, Teruel, Vitoria and Salamanca, where his work is especially recognized. Moreover he has won painting prizes at both the national and international levels, which attest to his talent and recognition in the art world.
Recently he won the prize at the III Certamen de Arte de Motril. 2024.
Painting is offered on Spierraam.
