Elegant and refined rectangular box in cast bronze with a lid entirely decorated with informal relief motifs. The work is part of the famous production of applied art and avant-garde design conceived and marketed from 1957 by the renowned Turin gallery and publishing house Il Sestante, founded by Ettore Sottsass and Camillo Croci.
The lid presents a three-dimensional repertoire of signs, textures and organic-geometric imprints typical of the expressive language that characterized the collaboration between brothers Arnaldo and Giò Pomodoro in the late 1950s. The bronze displays a suggestive original dark patina that enhances its tridimensionality and its historical value.
