Lorenzo Pompa was born in 1962 in Krefeld and spent his childhood and youth in Rome. After studying interior architecture in Rome from 1984 to 1986, he continued his training with an architecture program at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences.

His artistic training then led him to the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where he studied from 1996 to 2003 and worked as a master student in the class of Georg Herold.

Pompa's work moves between different artistic media, particularly painting and sculpture. A recurring emphasis is the human figure. He is interested not only in its external appearance but also in the effect of body, posture and form within an independent image composition.

With Childish with Paint, a limited graphical edition from 2025 is presented, suitable for private art ownership as well as for a collection of contemporary printmaking.
