Defil Vintage Hollowbody Electric Guitar – Year of Manufacture 1971 – Poland – original condition preserved & technically overhauled
Offered is an original Defil vintage electric guitar from 1971, made in Poland. The instrument features a red-black sunburst finish, a hollowbody/archtop body with f-holes, and two pickups.
Inside there is still the original manufacturer label with the Polish designations “nazwa wyrobu” and “data produkcji.” The instrument dates from 1971.
Technical overhaul
The guitar has been thoroughly technically overhauled and cleaned, with the greatest care given to preserving the original substance.
The original electronics are preserved and functional, including the two original pickups and the original potentiometers. The old components were carefully removed, cleaned, checked, and re-used.
The original jack socket/ outlet is also preserved and included. For practical use, a modern 1/4" jack socket has been installed for standard guitar cables. This allows the instrument to be used with today’s amplifiers without losing the historical original part.
Before/After documentation
The photos show both the condition before the overhaul and the condition after the overhaul was completed.
In the images of the original state you can see, among other things, the opened and dirty electronics, the original potentiometers, and the removed pickups. These photos are intentionally kept as documentation of the original state before the work.
The remaining photos show the guitar after cleaning and technical overhaul in its current state.
Thus, it is clearly documented which historical components were present and that the original electronics were preserved.
Condition
The guitar retains an authentic patina of over 50 years. Visible are aging and wear scratches, finish cracks/checking, minor damage and signs of use, as well as patina on metal parts.
These traces were intentionally not removed by cosmetic restoration or new paint. The instrument’s historical character should be preserved.
