An absolute rarity, this S.T. Dupont Linea D Maki-E Dragon, Ryu Lighter, brand-new and never used, not even lit to preserve its authenticity.

These lighters were made exclusively to order: once the advance payment was received, Dupont produced a model of Linea "D" or Soubreny with gold finishes and black Chinese lacquer. The lighter was then sent to Japan, where master artisans applied a special lacquer enriched with 24-karat gold powder, fragments of eggshell or mother-of-pearl, using the traditional Maki-e technique: a process that involved layering, polishing and new applications until the work was completed. The production of each individual lighter took 3 to 4 months and a considerable amount of manual labor.
The most fascinating aspect is their uniqueness: being handmade, they always show subtle differences in details.
