The Smiths, The Smiths (Scandinavia) – Iconic debut LP, 1984 first Scandinavian pressing on Rough Trade ROUGH 61, Sweden; VG+ sleeve and VG+ vinyl, includes original printed inner sleeve.
Description from the seller
A very fine original first Scandinavian pressing of The Smiths' self-titled debut album, released in 1984 through Rough Trade under catalogue number ROUGH 61. This edition marks the beginning of one of British rock's most extraordinary and influential partnerships: the songwriting collaboration between Morrissey and Johnny Marr. The album introduced songs that would define the band's early vision, including Reel Around the Fountain, Still Ill, What Difference Does It Make?, and Hand in Glove. Released at the launch of The Smiths' brief but profoundly consequential career, the album became a cornerstone of 1980s British alternative and indie rock. This Scandinavian pressing arrives complete with its original printed inner sleeve, a significant addition to an already collectible release.
⸻
Sleeve (VG+):
A very solid and attractive original sleeve with great gloss and a clean overall appearance. Some slight creasing is visible around the spine area, though nothing major or particularly distracting. A strong VG+ example overall.
Inner Sleeve (VG+):
The original printed inner sleeve is present and remains in nice collectible condition.
Vinyl (VG+):
The vinyl retains a nice gloss and shine. Both sides show some signs of previous play, including several visible hairlines and superficial marks. Importantly, these are not feelable, and there are no deep scratches. A solid and attractive VG+ copy.
