Egmond was a Dutch guitar manufacturer from the Eindhoven area.
From the early 1930s to the early 1970s, the company manufactured several types of acoustic, electric, and bass guitars. At its peak, in the 1960s, thousands of guitars were produced each week. Ninety percent of the guitars were exported, mainly to the United States.
In addition to guitars, amplifiers and guitar pickups were also produced. In 1974 the company went bankrupt, probably due to the great competition from Asia.
Egmond guitars were played by celebrities such as Paul McCartney and George Harrison of The Beatles, but Dutch artists Rob de Nijs, Peter Koelewijn, The Blue Diamonds and The Tielman Brothers have also played an Egmond guitar.
