On the evening of August 12, 2026, the sky over Europe darkened as a rare total solar eclipse cast its shadow from Greenland across Iceland to Spain and the Balearic Islands. This image captures the magical moment when the sun disappears as a bright crescent behind the hills and the light of the eclipse reflects on the sea – a once-in-a-generation natural event that will not recur for more than a generation.
