Urashima Shunto Samurai Warrior Hanging Scroll - 浦島春涛 - Japan - 20th century

An impressive Japanese hanging scroll (Kakejiku) by Urashima Shunto (浦島春涛), depicting a powerful samurai warrior in full armor beneath a pine tree.

The composition is executed by hand in color on silk (Kenpon Chakushoku). The warrior is portrayed wearing elaborate traditional armor, with careful attention given to the helmet, garments, equipment, and surrounding details.
