Mastercraft Pipe Company, a leading company that did not operate its own factory, was founded in the USA in 1941. Rather than manufacturing the pipes themselves, they selected and imported the finest handmade pieces from renowned workshops in Italy, France, and England.
This particular pipe is a "Mastercraft De Luxe" model—a classic, highly regarded line from the brand's golden era (1950s–1970s). The "De Luxe" series featured selected briar with minimal natural imperfections, offering a clean aesthetic and an excellent smoking experience.
Pipes from that era utilized a metal "stinger" system (an aluminum condenser attached to the stem) and were designed to be smoked without a filter.
Crafted from Corsican briar and made in France, this pipe was a highly appreciated model in its day. It has been well-maintained considering its age, showing only minor signs of use.
