Description from the seller
Exceptional vintage music box with a cigarette dispenser, made in Japan in the 1960s and today admired for its rare and fanciful design. This fascinating mechanical object features two finely detailed peacocks on its doors, with a frame enriched by several precious materials, including elements in gold-plated metal.
At the top there is a finely sculpted angel figure, which gives the piece a fanciful and elegant air. By pulling the side lever, the doors open and the music starts, all through a fully manual mechanism. The interior reveals the cigarette compartment, designed with the remarkable craftsmanship typical of mid-century Japanese automatons.
Marked with the inscription "Windmill" and patent number 34710 (see photo), the piece is fully functional and in excellent condition, making it a highly sought-after collectible for lovers of music boxes, mechanical curiosities, or vintage tobacco-related objects.
