Description from the seller
MANFRED LINUS KREINER (1926–2005)
Title: John F. Kennedy — Portrait in the White House Gardens, 1962
DESCRIPTION:
Magnificent photograph by photographer Manfred Linus Kreiner in Washington D.C., on November 14, 1962, during the official visit of West German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer to the White House.
The image features John F. Kennedy in the White House gardens, captured in a particularly expressive portrait. The president appears three-quarter view, looking outward from the frame, in an attitude that is attentive, focused, and natural.
The close framing highlights Kennedy's face and his elegance, while the background vegetation creates a graphic contrast with his silhouette and reinforces the subject's presence.
This photograph testifies to Manfred L. Kreiner's direct and privileged gaze on the American president, at the heart of a major period of Kennedy's presidency, just a few weeks after the Cuban Missile Crisis.
This photograph belongs to the The Kennedy Years corpus by Manfred L. Kreiner, rediscovered from the original negatives kept in the photographer's estate archives.
