About the series “Galaxy Advertising”
In Galaxy Advertising, Kobalt invents a language that no one speaks—not even him. An unlikely mix of weightless Cyrillic and Martian calligraphy vaguely Asian, this writing is supposed to be the most spoken in the neighboring galaxies… No need to try translating it: it says nothing, yet it says it beautifully. A cosmic wink to a form of communication from very, very far away—or just from another imaginary world.

Biographie / Biography:
Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the trajectory of a polymath artist whose creativity has developed from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present through his father, a draftsman, Kobalt discovers at a very young age his first passion: music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his precocious talents lead him to make a bold decision: to invest the money intended to fund his higher education in creating his first album.
Distributed by EMI, the album does not achieve the expected success, but it marks the beginning of a richly experimental artistic career.
Alongside his musical career, Kobalt enters the world of advertising as a designer/writer for the iconic Playboy magazine. For many years, he puts his creativity to work for the publication, creating and producing the magazine’s advertising campaigns.
The turning point in his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cinematographer, exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photography agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.
In 2017, Kobalt makes a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who has become a major figure in global street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted artistic creation, Kobalt stands out with more than 3,000 works sold in galleries and online to date.
His artistic approach is marked by bold use of humor, provocation, and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for reworking magazine covers, a style that makes him instantly recognizable.
Despite the digital era, Kobalt has chosen to stay off social networks, preserving a certain privacy. Today, he uses all available digital tools to bring his creations to life, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression with a subtle blend of inspiration, innovation, and humor.
