Olivo Barbieri is considered one of the most important Italian photographers of the late 20th century.
He is internationally recognized for his innovative technique of creating miniature photographs of real landscapes, simulating a shallow depth of field through the use of tilt-shift lens photography. Barbieri has exhibited his work at the Venice Biennale, and in galleries and museums across Europe, North America, and China. He has dedicated a retrospective of his work, which has been collected by museums around the world.
In 2003 Barbieri began the Site Specific project, describing cities such as Rome, Turin, Montreal, Amman, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Seville, New York, and it has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, at the Hayward Gallery in London (Source: Wikipedia)
