John Lennon – Jealous Guy / Going Down On Love, a 1981 Japanese promo 7" single released by Odeon (EAS-17133), with VG+ sleeve and VG+ vinyl, featuring black-on-white EMI/Odeon promo labels and the original Japanese picture insert.
Description from the seller
Scarce 1981 Japanese promotional pressing of one of John Lennon's most celebrated solo recordings, issued with the distinctive black-on-white EMI/Odeon promo labels and unique Japanese picture insert.
Jealous Guy originally appeared on Lennon's landmark 1971 album Imagine and was not released as a single at the time. Its roots run deeper still: Lennon developed the song from "Child of Nature," written during The Beatles' 1968 stay in India, before completely rewriting the lyrics for his solo version. Following Lennon's death, Jealous Guy was finally issued as a single in several countries in 1981. The Japanese EAS-17133 edition was released on 5 June 1981, backed with "Going Down On Love," and this promo pressing represents a notably scarce variant of that release, combining the desirable promotional label variation with an exclusive Japanese sleeve presentation.
⸻
Sleeve (VG+):
A very presentable original Japanese picture insert with some light age-related wear and a small punch hole visible on the front. The overall presentation remains attractive and clean, grading a strong VG+.
Vinyl (VG+):
Good glossy vinyl with some visible superficial play wear and hairlines throughout. Nothing excessive or deeply feelable; a solid playing copy that delivers VG+ performance.
