AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Large-format oil painting on canvas from a collection.
Hand-signed by the contemporary artist Andrea Roux and bearing a double gallery stamp.
Title: Ochre Depth
Dimensions: 70 x 50 cm
Year: 2026
Andrea Roux was born in Nice in 1989 to an Italian-French family and lives and works in Italy. His oil painting focuses on the face as an emotional and symbolic space, through large close-ups where eyes, lips, and fragments of the visage take on an iconic strength. Inspired by the European classical tradition and Italian chiaroscuro, Roux builds images suspended between contemporary figuration and memory, where the gaze becomes the center of a quiet, intense tension. His research finds expression in the series “Custodi dello sguardo.”
