Le Yack (1972) - Fast Food Aristocracy - Hand signed

In a majestic chiaroscuro of noble grandeur worthy of the Dutch Golden Age, a noble XVIIth-century lady, dressed in a rich black velvet gown and adorned with an imposing lace bib, poses with solemn, imperturbable dignity. Yet the absolute seriousness of her aristocratic expression clashes violently with the ongoing action: she delicately enjoys the fries from a famous red fast-food cone of contemporary origin. This unexpected intrusion of mass consumer culture at the heart of a classical portrait creates a striking and deeply ironic anachronism. Le Yack, emerging French pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. While studying, he attended the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) of Orléans. He is artistic director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is exhibited in a network of about forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, the United States.
